Right back at it again.

Yet again John Carter is taking credit and getting publicity for bringing money to his district -- even though that money comes from the stimulus bill that Carter opposed. (For just a few more examples of Carter's hypocrisy, see here, here, and here.)

At least this time the news article mentions that Carter voted against the stimulus bill. But Carter's response to this is as follows:
"This project is one I wanted to spend money on."
That's right. Carter acknowledges that he opposed the stimulus bill, but skirts that fact by claiming he supported this project.

Don't get me wrong. I support this project, too. And maybe Carter is honest in his support for it. That's all well and good.

But isn't it just a smidge disingenuous to make public announcements about funding acquisitions -- to garner publicity and to take credit for those acquisitions -- when the simple fact is that the money would not have been there if John Carter had gotten his way.

You see, not only did Carter vote against the stimulus bill -- but he also supported a spending freeze.

So tell me: how do you (a) support a spending freeze and (b) vote against the stimulus bill that contains this funding, but then (c) turn around and claim that you supported this funding???

Apparently, it's all in a day's work for Rep. Carter.
