At it again.

Apparently, John Carter LOVES to take credit for the money coming to Texas from the recently passed stimulus package -- even though he voted against it!

He's done it before, and now he's doing it again.

Here's the latest:
[Round Rock Mayor-pro tem Joe] Clifford, who serves on the CAMPO board of directors, thanked U.S. Rep. John Carter, state Sen. Kirk Watson, and state Rep. Diana Maldonado for their efforts to ensure the [FM 1460] project was included in the $1.2 billion worth of projects approved by the [Texas Transportation] Commission.

"This improvement is much needed," said Carter (R-TX31), who was instrumental in appropriating highway funds for Texas in ARRA, as one of only two Texans on Transportation Committees in the U.S. House.
Wow. That Carter sure has a great PR team, doesn't he? I mean, here he is, getting credit for securing earmark funding for highways in Texas in ARRA -- otherwise known as the stimulus bill. And he's even talking about how badly the improvements and funding were needed!!

Yet there is no mention of the fact that Carter has been criticizing earmarks and the stimulus package lately. Nor is there any mention of the fact that Carter voted against the stimulus.

The money and the improvements are much needed. This is good for jobs and transportation in Williamson County. In other words, the stimulus package is good for us. Carter is basically admitting this here.

What isn't good is Carter's attempts to take credit for the good being done, when in fact, if he had his way (according to his votes and rhetoric), those good things wouldn't be happening.
